What WeHumans is

WeHumans is a business unit that combines large language models (LLMs), natural language processing (NLP), hyper-realistic 3D avatars and automation to build enterprise conversational agents with visual presence. The differentiator versus a traditional chatbot is not the model: it is the combination of humanoid presence, multi-LLM orchestration and RPA connectivity into the client's operating systems.

My role at inception

As Corporate CIO and member of ABAI's Global Executive Committee, I took part in:

  • M&A with the founders: negotiation, valuation and integration.
  • Strategic plan and business model design inside the holding.
  • Definition of the go-to-market and the corporate client proposition.
  • Technology governance: architecture, integration with the rest of the group stack and regulatory compliance.

It was not an individual effort: the result was the work of the founding team and the group's teams.

Technology stack

WeHumans' architecture rests on six coordinated layers:

LayerFunction
GenAIMulti-provider LLMs for dialogue and generation
NLPLanguage understanding and intent analysis
3D AvatarsHyper-realism and lip-sync
Multi-LLMOrchestration layer across providers
RPABack-office process automation
APIsEnterprise connectors and telemetry

Verifiable results

  • Tier-1 clients in production after the first twelve months of operation.
  • In customer service and billing use cases, agents have absorbed up to 60 % of the traffic previously handled by human operators.
  • Editorial coverage on Spanish national television (TVE) as a sector reference.

Why this case matters

WeHumans is an uncommon case in the Spanish ecosystem: a generative AI business unit founded by a Spanish company before the ChatGPT media wave (launched in November 2022). The M&A closed in February 2022, which means its conception and investment approval took place during 2021 — a moment when most Spanish boards did not yet have generative AI on their formal agenda.

The relevance for an independent director profile is direct: it provides a documented experience of generative AI investment decision-making in a real board, with verifiable downstream results. It is not a theoretical recommendation; it is a decision taken in the boardroom that was then executed and worked.
